Bridesmaid Dresses

About one month ago I went with my three bridesmaids to pick out their dresses, and I thought I would share this process with you. So, about six months ago I went with my maid of honor to David's Bridal and she tried on some dresses to get an idea of what was out there. It went really well, and we found one dress we really liked. When we went with all the girls we realized that this was not the dress. It was very difficult to find something to fit the three girl since they all had different body types. This really didn't bother me, because I had decided a while ago that I care more about them feeling conformable and confident in their dresses than anything else (my only stipulation was the dresses had to be in the peacock color). So, we worked with the consultant - who must have been new since she was really bad - to find the girls a dress that all of them would be comfortable wearing during a potentially hot June day. They ended up picking this dress, and it looks great on all of them.

The best part of the night was all the girls being happy with what they are wearing for my wedding - not to mention they all said they would consider wearing the dress again. I've got to say, "I love my girls!"

Meet Buddy!

I decided I will introduce you to my dog, Buddy. He is a medium/large dog and he has a very interesting personality. He hates smoke detectors and when you change lights on the ceiling. He is protective of our apartment, but if someone he knows walks in he get super excited. His two favorite toys are a little green T-Rex and a Happy Meal beanie baby I got when I was a kid. Also, he loves playing in the sprinkler… Check out the video below to see him in action.

Does your pet have any interesting personality traits?

First blog post....ever

So, this is the very first blog post I have ever done. I figured I would write a short introduction about myself, so you can know what's going on at this point in my life. I am a full-time student at Central Michigan University, working part-time at Dow Corning Corp., and planning a wedding for June of 2013.

Jason, my fiancé, and I have known each other for over 3 years now (time sure can fly sometimes), and, although times get tough, I love him to pieces. When we moved in together we got a puppy from a local animal control center, and we named him Buddy (I nicknamed him "Booger").

Now that I am a senior in college and engaged, I have decided to take on more 'housewifey' duties... when I'm home. Jason has been teaching me how to cook things without a microwave, and I have been trying to make/do things to beautify our home. So far, so good :)

Another large project of mine is getting everything ready for our wedding in 1 year and 2 days. The theme we (I) chose for the nuptials is a 1930's old Hollywood glam with peacock colors and pearl accents. All we've done for the wedding so far is meet with the priest, book the church and the hall, and bought my gown. So, I'm hoping to display some of the DIY projects for the wedding and our home on this blog.

So... I think that's enough for now. Watch out! There's more to come.
