Makeup Tutorial: Easy Everyday Makeup

Everday Makeup Edit 1

This look is perfect for those days that don't have time to do a lot with your makeup, but you want to look like you did. The smudged liner makes it really quick and easy, because there's no precision needed. Plus, the majority of the products I used are from the drugstore, and are multi-purpose. Video tutorial and list of products are below:

REVIEW: Jordana Fabuliner

A few weeks ago my Revlon liquid eyeliner dried up. Since the Revlon product wasn't my favorite eyeliner, I decided to try something new. Recently I have heard good things about the Fabuliner liquid eyeliner by Jordana, and price is amazing. So I decided to give it a try.

As I mentioned the price is great - it's only $3! Plus, I was able to use my Walgreens rewards points and I only paid 11 cents. One major thing to mention is it can be hard to find Jordana products. Sadly they are only sold at 4 retailers nationwide, and not every location actually carries them. Lucky for me the Walgreens on my way home started carrying Jordana products at the beginning of the year. They were also hard to find in the store, because it was in a small display at the beauty section's checkout.

So once I found the product and bought it, how was it? Honestly, pretty great. The formulation of this product is da bomb, and it lasts all day. It's also very pigmented and the felt-tip applicator makes it very easy to apply. You can do a thin line, thick line, winged line, whatever you want very easily.

This is the first time I've used a felt-tipped, pen-style liquid liner, and I noticed it's a lot drier than if you use a felt-tip applicator you dip into the product. Because of this, it can pull on your skin if you're trying to push on you skin. So, I find myself having to hold onto the skin on the side of the eye (not pull though) when I'm drawing a winged liner. However, I had a problem with my old Revlon liner that if the coverage was thin and I went over the semi-dry liner, it would just erase the product that was there (similar to trying to write over a dry whiteboard marker). I never have that problem with this product, and I attribute it to the drier formula.

One other thing I noticed when I first started using this product, it had a very strong smell. It almost smells like a permanent marker when you start using the product. However, once it dries on your eye there's no more smell, and after using it for a week or two the smell dissipates.

Would I recommend this product? Yes! I am so much happier with this product than the Revlon Colorstay Liquid Liner that is two to three times more expensive. Other than the applicator being dry and the smell at first, the formulation and applicator are great. I believe this is the perfect product for someone who is starting out using liquid liners or trying winged liner. Plus it's a liquid liner that will last all day, that is only $3!

Makeup Tutorial: Valentine's Date Makeup

Valentine's Date2I wanted to create a fun eyeshadow look that used a cranberry eyeshadow color, but was still very wearable for daytime. The cranberry color can be very loud, but because I only apply it in the crease and outer half of the lid it's not terribly overwhelming. I've worn this look on the weekend a few times, and every time I do my husband says he really like how my makeup looks that day. So I thought this would be a great look for a Valentine's Day date. My Go-To Makeup for Fall 2014 - LIPS

_DSC1427

Here's the last installment of my fall product trilogy, lips. Don't forget to read the first two posts - face and eyes!

Vaseline Jelly

_DSC1422Step 1 to good lip care is hydration! This product has been best way to hydrate my lips. It's definitely messier than a lip balm in a tube, but I don't think I'll ever go back. This has been my lifesaver in the winter months when it's dryer inside. If you have terribly dry, flaky lips that don't seem to get the hydration they need from chapstick, you have to give this stuff a try. It's also great when your lips are chapped, and the corners crack. If you use this 2-3 times a day, they'll be good as new within a few days.

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Honey

_DSC1424This has been my everyday lip product the past few months. It's so easy to put on at my desk without a mirror, and it's very hydrating. I love this color because it's the "my lips but better" color, so it's perfect for an office setting or everyday wear. Since it's a lip stain it also mean you don't have to constantly touch-up throughout the day - I only apply it 2 or 3 times everyday. Plus the minty scent/flavor is very refreshing.

Wet n Wild Fergie Collection Lipstick in Fergie Daily & Ferguson Crest Cabernet

_DSC1426

If I'm going for a bolder look, I have been grabbing my Fergie Collection lipsticks. When I do a bold eye I use the nude color called "Fergie Daily," and when I'm going for a bold lip I use the burgundy color called "Ferguson Crest Cabernet." This lipstick is very creamy and, as I say about all Wet n Wild products, they're pigmented and affordable. If you want to try a nude or cranberry lipcolor for the first time, these are great. Honestly, that's why I originally bought them, and I've fallen in love with them.

Thanks for reading!
