The best way find more of your ideal customers is by providing value regularly. And, I don’t mean that you have to do a blog post, YouTube video, Instagram post, and stories every day either.
Be Where They Are
This one is key! If you are very clear on the people you’re serving, then you’ll know where to find them. You should be targeting your efforts to reach them in one or two places that you know they hang out online. There is absolutely no need for you to be using every social media channel, make a blog post, and upload a podcast if you don’t have the time.
You need to be extremely clear about who your audience is and exactly where they are. Also, don’t feel like you need to know where they are right away. It might take some trial and error to find out what works the best. Make sure you have a central place to send people to where you can track how people are finding you like your website.
Once you know where your ideal audience is hanging out, this is when you provide information they need. Remember! Some people need your services, but maybe don’t know it yet. Because of this, you need to make sure when you offer value you phrase it in a way that fixes your audiences pain point.
Don’t worry about people using your free information and not hiring you. Sometimes people will try to do it on their own early on, but are more than happy to pay for your help later. Plus those people value your services more, because they trust you and they know the effort it takes to do what you do. It’s a win-win!
Don’t Always Sell
People can see right through you if all you do is sell, sell, sell. If more than 20-25% of what you produce is a sales pitch, you’ll drive people away. When you offer value to people you should be doing it from a place of longing to help people. Once you get used to offering your knowledge for free, you’ll find that selling will be so much easier and you’ll actually make more money.
