My Go-To Makeup for Fall 2014 - EYES

All ProductsWelcome back to part 2 of my go-to fall 2014 makeup trilogy. If you haven't read part 1 about face products, click here. If you have read it or only care about the eye products continue on...

New York Color (NYC) Brow Kit in Brunette

_DSC1398I bought this little nugget a few months go, and I love it. Before I was using an eyeshadow in a Sephora palette and the colored eyebrow was from ELF, but I just wasn't happy with them. All I wanted was the eyeshadow in a more portable container like the ELF eyebrow wax. Beauty gurus online have said good things about this product. So, I thought a product that was under $5 was worth a shot, and I haven't looked back. This is great because it's not so pigmented that your eyebrows don't belong to your face, and it's easy to build up.

To apply this product I use my pinky to place a small amount of the clear wax on my arch and tail. Then I apple the brown powder using small strokes with a narrow angled brush. Finally, I use an eyebrow brush and quickly go over my brows to get the hairs to lay how I would like and to disperse any thick patches of product.

Maybelline Color Tattoo in Just Beige

_DSC1399I'm going to start of by saying I love all the Maybelline Color Tattoos I own (see the other three colors and an in-depth review here). However I have been leaning toward this particular color. It's a great matte shadow base and primer that is perfect for fair-skinned people. Sadly, I haven't seen it in stores for a few months so this was most likely limited edition. I love the color tattoos because they are affordable, but if you really need a matte, skin-toned shadow base you can try MAC Paint Pot in Soft Ochre. It's definitely a pricier alternative, but I have heard great things about this product, too.

To apply this product, I place my ring finger into the pot and rub it in a circular motion for a few seconds. Picking up the product this way helps warm up the product and make it easier to apply to your eyelid. Then I apply this from my lash line to my brow bone, and go over it a few times to make sure it's blended easily.

I learned a super helpful tip when storing this product so it won't dry out: Store it with the black lid on the bottom. This makes it so the moisture in the product is where you are putting your finger when you use the product, and not at the bottom of the pot. SO HELPFUL! I wish I would have stored these like this all along...

Maybelline The Rocket Volumn' Express Waterproof Mascara in Very Black

_DSC1395Best. Drugstore. Mascara! I absolutely love this product. It doesn't flake or smear all over your face, it keeps your lashes curled and voluminous, it's clump free, and it's from the drugstore! My favorite mascara of all time is Tarte's Lights, Camera, Lashes!, but this by far my favorite drug store one. It's color is so dark and your lashes won't look like a spider if you apply two coats. I have used the regular formulation of this product, but the waterproof one keeps my stick-straight lashes curled all day long.

I apply this mascara in a pretty basic way... First I curl my lashes. Then I put the brush covered with product at the base of my top lashes and wiggle the brush as I go toward the end of the lash, and go over all of my lashes. Also, I use the left over product to apply a light coat on my lower lashes. If I feel like I didn't get enough va-voom on the first coat, I apply a second to my top lashes.

Wet n Wild ColorIcon Eyeliner in White

_DSC1400This last product is my 8 hours of sleep in a pencil. When you put this on your waterline, it makes you look awake and ready to take on the day. As I have praised over and over, Wet n Wild products are super pigmented and super affordable. If you've never tried a white eyeliner pencil, you should give this a try because you can get it for a few dollars (I think I paid $1.50) and it will last FOREVER.

To apply this, I pull my lower water-line away from my eyeball, and run the pencil over it a couple of times until the skin is lighter. That's it. It's even easier than how I apply mascara and it will make you look like you got a great night's sleep (even though you didn't).

What products are you loving this fall?

Lots of love!
